Elena Piedra Art

In her late teens, Maria Elena Piedra came from Ecuador to United Estates to learn English and then later study at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise in Los Angeles,where she graduated as a Fashion Designer.  Elena kept studying at different colleges, Post-Graduate courses in Color Theory and Interior Decorations to nurture her boundless love with art and its many expressions.

After graduation, Elena's dream of an art career was delayed as she took jobs in hospitality, publishing and Real Estate.  Some years later, her love for the arts made her go back to her original passion, to become what she always wanted to be: "an artist".

Taking some art courses to improve and refresh her dormant skills,  Elena originally focused on fashion illustration using pencil, charcoal and watercolors.  Elena continued studying art taking pastel and acrylic classes, learning how to mix acrylic with gel mediums and different materials to end up with big collages paintings, becoming a Mixed Media Artist.

Elena's art work is fulled of a variety of fashion projects with different concepts and medias.  She enjoys painting any subject but fashion and animals are her favorites.
